Through the International Drought Resilience Observatory (IDRO), an AI-powered data platform, we aim to provide decision-makers with a single portal for analyzing and visualizing key drought resilience indicators.
2021 - The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture (Yale CEA) today launched an open digital forum aimed at accelerating urban agriculture in cities and delivering huge benefits on everything from food security to climate change.
The Lab supports a vertically integrated research and mentorship model spanning K–12, undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D., and postdoctoral work, alongside Yale faculty, visiting fellows, and collaborators. Researchers move between collaborative studio space, a fabrication lab, a wet lab featuring a WASP ceramic 3D printer and other equipment, and a 3D printing farm for rapid prototyping and testing novel materials, devices, and integrated systems for energy, water, air quality, health, and circular material economies. Full-scale prototypes connect controlled experimentation with building-scale implementation, accelerating the deployment of transformational scientific research by uniting lab experiments with real-world test sites: the Integrated Concentrating Solar Facade (ICSF), Active Modular Phytoremediation Systems (AMPS), the Solar Enclosure for Water Reuse (SEWR), a MoMA-featured mycelium wall.
The Yale CEA Research + Innovation Lab is an interdisciplinary hub where research, design, and technology converge to advance the future of the built environment.
